Artist of the Week 3 !

So i came across Chrisette Michele a couple of years ago while i was watching MTV JAMS. I love her voice. She has a bit of a rasp to it, but it comes off so smooth! I think she has a bit of an old school jazz feel. She's had numerous songs that I've liked which are in the playlist.

I think this secret holds true for many people. If we knew it was the end to so many different things would we have behaved differently? I find that we often wait until it is far too late to try to fix things, so I think this is a good thought for everyone. Work on making everything in your life better even if it is already good! There is ALWAYS room for improvement =]

Artist of the Week 2 !

Maxwell has been around for over a decade. He's had numerous songs that have been favorites of mine and I am so happy that after several years away he is making a comeback. A phenomenal performance of pretty wings on the recent BET awards confirmed that he was making a strong comeback. His new album BLACKsummers'night is the first of a trilogy, with one being released each year for the next two (2010, 2011). 

Best Friends ?

Friendship is co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more people.

Is there such thing as a best friend? We often consider the friend that we spend the majority of our time with our best friend. The friend that is there the all of the time is a "best friend." The one that supports you through the good and bad. The friend that offers the advice that is sometimes not what you want to hear.

I know we've all had a friend that we could count on for at least one of these things at some point in time. I know that I have, but in the last two years I found myself eliminating, replacing, and second guessing so many of my friendships that I have had with others. I am not sure if it was because I changed, they changed, or we both did. I've been in arguments with some of my friends and some of those arguments have caused our friendships to never be the same. Sometimes I often wonder what is it that I am doing that is causing all of this tension, but when I look to myself I find it so hard to find the answer. I consider myself to be a good friend. I give advice when it is needed and/or wanted. I offer a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen. I guess the only problem that I see is that when it comes time for me to need someone, they're gone or "conveniently busy." I'm not asking to be the center of someone's world, but I believe that any relationship goes both ways.

I guess my purpose of this post is that I'm making my declaration. LOL. I'm tired of being the friend to come to, but I can't go to them. I've never been the type to have tons of people that I get close to and if I have to live with one friend, I'm perfectly fine with that!

If you think this is about you, it is. Quit being a selfish bitch!

Obama Mom Jeans !

L0l! So I think this is kind of funny. My mom is like the biggest Obama supporter of all time (see the pictures below). She was complaining the other day about people making fun of him. Obama obviously is not up to date with his jeans and decided to wear mom jeans to throw out the first pitch of the All-Star game. Obama's reply to all of the buzz was that the jeans were comfortable and he knew he looked a little frumpy! Hahahaha. You still have to love him though =]

         

New Apartment !

So Roomie and I move into our apartment in a couple of weeks and I can't wait! In need of furniture and all that good stuff! Advice too ?! =]

Congrats to my lovely cousin/sister/best friend Arielle! March 3rd is a long way away, but it needs to hurry up so that I can spoil my new niece or nephew =] (hopefully niece!)

Artist of the Week !

James Morrison is a British Award winning artist. I first heard his song "Better Man" about two years ago while watching my FAVORITE show So you Think you can Dance. I instantly fell in love with his voice and from then on I've been a fan of his music. I recently heard a song of his, "You make it real" and he had me captured again. I can't say that he is the best looking artist, but with his smooth and soulful voice, he's so intriguing to me!

Purpose !

I've always been the type to say that I was against blogs and that they had no point. I wasn't going to waste my time on something and not get anything in return. Well, my beautiful, lovely bestest Jasmine got one and I guess I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I believe that it'll be a good outlet for me. It will give me a place to just let out my thoughts. So I'm giving it a try =]
